Went into device manager and the properties showed the drive not working due to code 19, how do I fix this?

Which OS? If vista, which version? Which service pack?

Desktop or laptop? Brand, model, model # if applicable, please. Did you build the computer? If a desktop, are you a beginner, intermediate or advanced with computer hardware?

If the computer has > 1 optical drive, does it work?

How did the problem begin? I commend you for checking dev mgr. I do not think that users routinely check dev mgr unless a problem exists. I could be wrong, here. No offense intended.

When did the problem begin? Can you relate the onset to installation / removal of hardware / software, to include updates to Windows, your antivirus, other program?

Does the drive appear in "computer"?

What steps have you taken to try to resolve the issue? Which web sites have you visited? I would not want to suggest a site or step you have already tried.
