Unhappy Win7 Hates My DVD Drive
I am operating with Windows 7 and every single time I insert a disc in my DVD-RAM drive, the system pretty much crashes ( everything becomes unresponsive and it never even reads the disc ). Luckily I have an external drive, but I'd really like the built-in one to work. It worked in XP, but I like 7 too much to go back. In device manager the drive is called "HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GH22LS30 ATA Device".

Which version of Windows 7 (Build number) are you running?

Also have you checked with the OEM of this DVD drive?

Build 7127, and it's an LG. But I've tried it on build 7000 and 7022 as well, same issue with them...

Build 7127 has NOT been released to the public. The last public release was 7100. I am NOT sure what you mean by LG?

Sounds like there are no good drivers for your DVD, and you will need to contact the OEM.
What is the make and model of the computer?
