Since there is no real issue with you system but a lag connectivity time of about ""5 seconds"" when you are gaming. I would try increasing the CPU power from 2.20 ghz to about 2.24 or 3.0 ghz even. Also changing memory from RAM to about 2GB of some DDR2 would be a good improvement.

Also are you using a external network card or is it integrated into your MB???
Why are you recommending 2gb of DDR2? He already has 3gb of DDR2 memory. Also he's running Windows Vista, 2gb of memory is garbage.

I'm using a external network adapter by netgear, I don't know how to upgrade my CPU power (I got a new power device for when I put in my graphics card, but don't know if that changed anything or is adjustable) and I'll try buying a new RAM card, but if I'm gonna upgrade, I'm gonna make it a big upgrade, probably (if one exists for under 300$) a 4 GB DDR2 or somthing.

G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ - Retail

Is the ram that I'm looking at right now, it's only 50$ and it's got some good reviews, it's 1GB up and I can't find any 6+GB for under 1200$... So I think i'm gonna go with this. As far as I know, I only have 2 slots for RAM or else I'd get 3 x 2 or 3GB.

Will do! My computer seems to be doing better today, I re-enabled some services I had disabled in haste that were Microsoft services and I haven't frozen all day! However the upgrade will still be nice, 1GB should boost my FPS in just about any game I play.

Now, I'm still having connection issues in TF2, that's my big problem again. If anyone plays any steam games on their servers and have the same issues, I could use your help if you've fixed it. Eventually I plan to move out of my grandmothers house and into an apartment where I get to chose the connection, and then I'm getting the fastest one I can afford. But for now, I think we're on AT&T cable connection, I have a wireless usb thing with just about a perfect connection, we're on a secure connection and I can't change that, is there anyway to boost the connection? Or at least keep it from disconnecting mid game?

Gotta get to work, looking forward for replies and I'll keep you all up to date on my memory cards when they get in (Sometime next week). Thanks for all your help so far!

So, I opened up my computer to dust it off and see if maybe that's the issues (Which it seems to have just made it work really slow instead of freeze up every 20 seconds) and I found that my hard drive was really really hot (I've opened my computer before and it's never been so hot for such a long time) I was wondering if something may be overworking my hard drive or something. I had my computer on for about an hour prior to opening it and I waited 5 minutes after unplugging it to open it, then had it open for 10 minutes and the hard drive was still hot before I turned on the computer. I don't know what's wrong with it so I'm leaving the cover off for a little bit while it runs (not touching it or letting anything else near it of course) in hopes that it'll keep cooler with more open air to it.

Any suggestions or anything that might make you guys believe this is the problem and any way to fix it? I was thinking of buying a new fan but that can't be it, my Graphics card has it's own fan, the motherboard and the power supply all have fans, so I don't think that's the issue.

WELL THE MOST DANGEROUS THING IS THAT YOU INSTALLED A REGISTRY FIXER,they can harm your computer very badly. If you have used so,well you can regain some registries but about your question:
TRY DEFRAGMENTINg

I would say that you had registry problem so try repairing the windows ie by going to system setup with the help of your system cd wheather it is xp/vista or any....then press f12 and then press r .......then type the following the black area:

CHKDSK /R

THIS SHOULD HELP.....BEST OF LUCK
*try not using registry fixer's...i used they help a bit for short time.then suddently you will feel that your computer has been in loss rather than in good.

BEST OF LUCK

Tried defragmenting, I'll try the site first and then see what I can do about doing the check disk thing. Thanks for your help, I'll keep you updated on any progress and I hope that it works.

Is it bad if my HD's heat goes from 87* F to 111* within 5 minutes of it starting up while the side cover is off?

Okay... Assuming that's a bad thing cause little over an hour on and I turned on that HDD temp thing and it's saying "Urgent overheat 113*" Sooo, I'm assuming that's a bad thing, is there anyway to rectify this situation without buying a new hard drive? Cause if not, that won't happen until next week and I'm not gonna be happy about it. >.>

So I installed my new RAM and my computer is only counting one of the new things, and therefore is running even slower than before. I have 2 sticks of 2GB but it's only reading 2 GB. How do I fix this?
