Unhappy Skype & PC sounds
Hi there. Since reinstalling Vista Home Premium and downloading newer version of Skype,
I can either have: 1) Skype sound and NO other sounds from PC, or ") PC sounds normal and NO Skype sounds.
I have ticked and unticked all combinations in the control panel sound boxes. Please help!!!

Hi Joeten. Thank you for trying to help me. I don't know how to identify the sound card in the device manager list. But if it did not work, would I be hearing the skype sounds at all? Everything was fine until I reinstalled Vista, and reinstalled the new skype. If I meddle with the audio devices I can get windows sounds on but then no skype.... Carmen

Just check Skype sound set up
In Skype go Tools/Options/audio settings

Check that Microphone/speakers/ringing are all set correctly.

I had a problem once with webcam , which had a speaker available and i inadvertently had used the webcam instead of Realtek which goes with Skype.

As a matter of interest I have Realtek showing in Microphone/speakers/ringing
and this is using XP Professional.

There may be problems with Skype/Vista and a check with Skype forum may resolve matter.

Pedro

Thanks Pedro... the problem stemmed from the tick boxes in audio devices... managed to fix the problem now by checking and unchecking the boxes until everything worked...... As well as this I had uninstalled and reinstalled skype..

So it's the set up of the Skype or the sound and devices?
