I am quoting this from the book "Windows Vista For Dummies".
Click the Start menu, choose Control Panel, and click the Programs Icon.

go to start > control panel if its set to classic look for programs and features

if its set to control panel home go to uninstall a program

either way go to control panel and look for one or the other.

I think the OP might be looking for this:
Open the Control Panel.
Up on the top right, click the item category and select small icons
Select Programs and Features

Or are you looking for this:
Open the Control Panel.
Up on the top right, click the item category and select small icons
Select System
Over on the left, select Advanced system settings
Click the performance tab.

Sorry, but I was unable to answer sooner.
With a lot of luck and time on my hands I came up with this answer, for now, to my problem.
It goes like this:
Control Panel / Classic View / Programs & Features
If I was told the same or similar solution by one of you, it would be charitable of you to call me a Newbie at this Vista thing.
A big Thank You to each of you for your help.
