Cannot connect to internet with vista using router
I need some help ,it seems this topic or problem has many outcomes or solutions and i need one that works.

I got an acer laptop 2 days ago and when i first connected to my router my internet was fine and everything was ok. But yesterday it would connect to my router no problem but would not connect to intenet.

If i leave the laptop for a while it connects itself to the Internet for maybe 2 minutes. While its connected i try refresh and open a new page but says the same thing "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage".
I have tried you Diagnose this problem but windows cannot find one.

It couldn't be my Router because my Sister uses the router and the Internet works fine. So its something to do with some settings i'm guessing.

I've done IPCONFIG /ALL and heres what i got.. (i dont understand much of it so can someone help me?)

Have you tried clearing the cache in Internet Explorer? (Also, my suggestion is that you use Firefox and not Internet Explorer. http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/upgrade.html

Also, do you remember if anything happened on your computer before your problem started? Did you install/uninstall/update any software or hardware or run Windows Update?

It's probably not causing any issue, but why do you apparently have Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) enabled?

Make sure you have the latest wireless driver from Acer's web site.

If you have Vista and are using WEP encryption, try with no or WPA(2) encryption (Vista seems to have more trouble with WEP).

For one of the laptops try to connect by both wireless and ethernet and show ...

Start, Run, CMD, OK to open a command prompt:
(For Vista type CMD in the Search box after Start)

Type the following command:

IPCONFIG /ALL

[Note that there is no space between the slash and ALL.]

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If necessary use a text file and removable media to copy the results to a computer with internet access.

Media disconnected for the ethernet could be a defective router LAN port, cable or NIC.

With the apparently good wireless connection please try these pings in a command prompt. You can show the results the same as for the ipconfig /all

ping 192.168.2.6 (or whatever the current ipv4 address is)

ping 192.168.2.1

ping 69.147.114.224

ping yahoo.com
