Question Vista 64bit, blue screen and ram
First off, I apologize if this problem has already been posted. If it has could you redirect me to where I need to go? Thanks.

Starting a few months ago, I started to have a problem with BSOD. It only seems to happen when I use a lot of ram. I have a Toshiba Satellite A305, Vista 64bit, 4GB of ram with intel centrino single core. The computer originally came with 3GB of ram, but I had 4GB of ram installed by tech so as not to void my warranty. I had the ram put in September last year and just started having problems with the BSOD at the end of March this year. I ran a memory test which states there's a problem with my memory.

The BSOD problem is stated below and then followed by the memory diagnostic...

BSOD:
Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.0.6002.2.2.0.768.3
Locale ID: 1033

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: a
BCP1: 0000096C0000007E
BCP2: 0000000000000002
BCP3: 0000000000000001
BCP4: FFFFF80001E78443
OS Version: 6_0_6002
Service Pack: 2_0
Product: 768_1

Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini070509-01.dmp
C:\Users\Stormyraven\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-35474-0.sysdata.xml
C:\Users\Stormyraven\AppData\Local\Temp\WERAF22.tmp.version.txt

Memory Diagnostic:
Problem signature
Problem Event Name: MemDiagV1
Range of memory size: 4096
Launch type: Manual
Schedule type: Immediate
Completion type: Fail
Test type: Standard
Failed tests: 64
Range of number of bad pages: 5
Test duration in seconds: 1050
OS Version: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.768.3
Locale ID: 1033

Also at the bottom of the memory diagnostic test it states where I can find the problems on a temporary page, but the program is run by .bin and I don't know how to run that. The file name is: MemDiag.bin

Recently the problem is progressively getting worse. I can't even run a P2P program unless it's the only program running and same with using skype just for a normal phone call. I can close all programs except skype and be fine with a normal phone call, but I can't run the video chat without getting the BSOD, so video chat is pointless. I'm used to running several programs at the same time and not having a problem. Toshiba Tech hasn't helped me out a single bit, I've had to do all the research myself.

If someone could help me out, I would truly appreciate it. Thank-you in advance.

Sounds like faulty memory. If you can, try removing one stick at a time to see if the errors persist. I'm guessing you have two 2GB sticks, so having just one installed at a time will give you enough RAM for Vista, at least for the time being.

If, with one of the sticks removed, you have no errors, then you know that one is faulty. It will need to be replaced.
