Smile Solved: Help Please - I want to allow access to my website
I have installed a php web application called moodel, via a packaged install which has deployed xampp and I have this all running fine on my laptop.

I can access the site via the URL http://127.0.0.1/

I want people to be able to access the site from the web and think I may need to change some windows configration (possibly firewall?)

I am using a service, https://www.dyndns.com/ , which has allowed me to set up a URL http://quiz.homelinux.com/

When I access this URL it works but I dont think its working from the internet?

Is this something to do with the firewall (I'm running windows vista with the firewall enabled)

Or is this something to do with my ISP or IP addresses ?

Thanks

Nick

You seem to have a problem with using DynDns correctly. It is linking to a private IP address of 192.168.1.64 instead of your public IP address:

Code:
C:\...>tracert quiz.homelinux.com

Tracing route to quiz.homelinux.com [192.168.1.64]
Before you work on trying to debug your problem, you may want to check your ISP's terms of service to see if they permit running a public server on your account. If they do not, they may be blocking such connections or they may cancel your account if they detect you are running a server.
