Question windows problems?
hi every1

1. i had vista installed on my computer and all of a sudden i decided that i wanted to have xp too (this happened few weeks ago, not more than 3 though).
so, i entered the xp bootable cd and installed it (on a different partition and after formatting it of course)

but after the xp finished installation, SURPRISE: i couldn't log into vista anymore. i even used the F8 command before windows loaded. the same result:nothing, no vista to be found anywhere

and now i need to retrieve many pieces of information (firefox bookmarks, program logins etc) from vista

anyway, that's one of the problems.

2. the second problem is that now while i am using xp, even more strange things happen.

for example, most of the links in my browser (i am using firefox 3.5.1) are highlighted with a pink color and it sucks. it wasn't like this forever but it only began to happen for the 1st time several days ago
almost every link on every single page is highlighted pink

3. and the latest weird thing that i encountered few minutes ago was when i wanted to make the hidden files and folders visible from within the xp control panel (you know, went to start>settings>control panel>folder options>clicked on the "view" tab and there are 2 radio buttons there: one for "do not show hidden files and folders" the other one for "show hidden files and folders"). well, i checked the second radio button (the one with "show hidden files or folders") then clicked on "apply" and then "ok" but nothing happened, the settings reverted back to the "do not show hidden files and folders" button

anybody knows what is wrong or how i can fix this?

thanks and looking forward to hearing from you
