Unhappy Vista does not recognize iPhone
Vista used to recognize by my iphone, but I suspect an automatic update did something so it will no longer recognize the phone. It is not a problem with the phone because it works on another computer, nor is it a problem with the cable or usb ports as they also work with other devices. The proper driver for iphone is in the proper place and I have turned off the User Account Controls and completely removed itunes, quicktime, Apple support and Apple Mobile Device manager, but vista and itunes simply do not recognize that anything is plugged in. Apple support was unable to help. Microsoft wants $60 bucks to deny that its their problem. HP says its not a hardware problem. Please help.

The problem probably was caused by a Vista update that 'updated' the driver. Simply go into the device management console, and roll back the driver to a previous date. Let me know if you need advice on how roll back a driver.

More help please
Yes, please more help. I don't know anything about this stuff, but Msoft and Apple techs were no help - each saying they had never really heard of this problem. I don't even know how to identify which of the USBs the iPhone is plugged into because it does not recognize it at all - not even as a camera or anything. I have confirmed that the iPhone driver is installed, but it doesn't show up in driver managers.

thanks in advance
