My Acer Aspire 5920 laptop keeps freezing when i click on the recording tab from controle pannel and also when i call on skype! I have to restart the computer everytime i click on any of these. I feel skype must have changed a setting to do with recording and causes the computer to freeze! The sound is fine apart from this so its very strange - Please help

I can't help, but i have the same laptop(acer aspire 5920) and i also have the exact same problem as you but my laptop keeps freezing every 15 minutes. Check to see if Ctrl/Alt/Delete works(mine doesn't) and if it doesn't it may be a memory problem i have been told. Sorry i couldn't help.

No the ctrl,alt del works fine as does everything else. There must have been some setting that was changed when i uploaded skype that is causing it to freeze which is strange as it worked fine for a few weeks. Anyone know of any settings in acers that may casuse this to happen?
