I'm starting to lose my
mind.
I just reinstalled 64 bit Vista on my desktop Dell Studio XPS 435 because I was unable to connect to the internet via my network adapter and ethernet controller (both of which said I had no driver installed suddenly and refused to accept the downloaded driver from the resource CD or Dell's website).
After formatting the hard drive and freshly reinstalling Vista, I now have MORE problems. In addition to showing NO network adapter at all (in Device Manager) it now shows that I am lacking drivers for my SM Bus controller, several System Interrupt controllers, the ethernet controller (still), and now it is also not recognizing my video card (stock P.O.S. ATI card Dell through in there). Before reinstalling Vista I tried everything from resetting my IP address to a full System Restore (two of them actually). Nothing seems to be working, it is starting to drive me crazy.
I've read that it could be the chipset drivers that I need to download and install, but I haven't tried it yet because I am currently at work and don't know the info I need to perform such a download.
I've never had a problem like this that I couldn't solve before. Any help would be so very greatly appreciated.
