Solved: IGFXEXT error only after Vista SP2 install
I have a Sony Vaio, running fine for about 8 months, Windows Vista Business pre-installed. I had some driver issues a few weeks back after using Driver Sweeper, but re-installed the drivers and there was no trouble.
Upgraded to Vista SP2, began to get IGFXEXT MODULE HAS STOPPED WORKING AND CLOSED at every start-up. No other errors or symptoms. Worked closely with Sony tech support, did full driver re-install in Safe Mode, full spybot scans, malware scans, virus scans. Nothing of significance. Restore to previous point, error gone. Re-installed all drivers, did scans again, still nothing. No error.
Re-installed Vista SP2 today, now have the IGFXEXT error on start-up as well as CCP stopped working and closed.
It seems like a driver issue, but there is no apparent conflict, nothing detected on HijackThis, Spybot, AdAware, and AVG.
Ok, then you shouldn't even have the Intel graphics drivers running since you have an NVidia graphcis card. Go to Programs & Features and uninstall the Intel Graphics drivers. Or use MSCONFIG to disable the Intel graphics star tup items.
