Windows Vista wont run in safe mode, and startup repair cant fix
I have windows vista sp1 and a toshiba satelite notebook.
I had gotten some trojans a couple of days ago, but I thought I got rid of them with AVG Free...I was using my computer today, and a bunch of viruses came up, so I restarted and booted to safe mode...I ran AVG there, and it said it had found viruses and deleted them, but then my computer pretty much died on me. I tried to restart it, but I cant open windows normally, or in any safe modes..

When I tired startup repair, I got this in the problem details:

problem signature : StartupRepairV2
problem signature 01:AutoFailover
problem signature 02:6.0.6001.18000.6.0.6001.18000
problem signature 03: 5
problem signature 04:393222
problem signature 05:0xf4
problem signature 06:CorruptVolume
problem signature 07:0
problem signature 08:1
problem signature 09:Chkdsk
problem signature 10:0
OS version: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.256..1
locale ID 1030

I tried system restore, but it says that i have no restore points...

PLEASE HELP ME....

Run chkdsk /r on that drive. Then run Startup Repair again, and if it doesn't boot, again. It may take more than once to repair everything.

I just bought a Toshiba Satellite last week. But I immediately removed the recovery partition, made an image of the entire drive on the external, and then upgraded it to Windows 7 Ultimate. So it is hardly the same machine any more. But at least I know how they are set up.

I tried to run chkdsk /r, but it says that it is "write-protected"....

Should i use the toshiba recovery wizard? I'm afraid that that might delete all my files..
