Exclamation Solved: Computer Boot Problem need help
I need help figuring out if my HD is good or not.....

I turned off my computer and unplugged it so I could clean out the dust in my computer that had alot in it. I took a fan to the computer and alot of dust came out lol when I was done I put the side panel back on and plugged everything in and all the lights came of and the fans also, BUT when the usual windows comes on and boots up nothing comes on.

If you deside to touch the HD to see if it's spinning can you feel it hum a little?? Cause mine doesn't

When the PC starts, look and make sure you can see's the hard disk in the BIOS setting and the hard disk info is correct, make sure it books from the hard disk also. When the POST comes up, can you see the hard disk listed on the screen?

Also make sure all the cables are plugged in good, check all connections going to the hard disk, motherboard.

Most PC's have a hard disk light somewhere in the case, is the light on?

yes the lights come on on the front of the computer and the fans come on everything comes on exept the picture nothing shows up. and all of the wires are connected too.

I changed out my graphics card and tryed another one still nothing. I turned it on and felt the top of the HD to see if it was even spinning and I felt nothing don't worry I didn't transfer and static I made sure of that.

From this can someone try and figure out if my HD is broke or not Im trying to skip an expentive diagnostic of my computer from a licenced tech.

Did the BIOS see the hard disk? Most systems you press the [DEL] key just after the [post] test when you turn on the power.

the question is solved guys lol

but what happend was I must have discarged some static some how and my mother board got fryed lmao what are the odds huh. I talked to a guy i know and he had me run test and the final one was tak everything out the cards and memery and if your computer beeps at you then your mother board is fine if not the it's shot. So I did and it turns out although kinda rare it does happen my mother board got fryed lol.

What are the odds huh oh well but I ended up geting a new smaller computer a HP pavilian s5220f slimlime its a sall sucker lol compared to my gameing machine Tsunami Dream and the slimline is faster too so good trade I think and I get a free copy of window 7 when it comes out so I happy.
