Cursor problems in Vista basic home
I have had my new inspiron for two months and am at my wits end. It crashed after two weeks and I had to do a complete clean install. I have vista home basic sp1, and 3gig ram. I have IE 8 installed too. When I'm online, my cursor freezes sometimes and the only solution is to close the window. Other times, when I'm typing, all the text will be highlighted in blue, and I have to click and click all over the place to try to get back to the regular display. Other times, the cursor won't go where I want at the end of a line. I have to go up a line, then use the arrows to get down to the spot where I want to resume typing.

Everything is inconsistent, and so frustrating that I wish that I'd never gone to a new laptop. I need help to track down what is causing these problems. I have a few more problems with "administrator privileges" which i apparently don't have even tho I'm the only person on this laptop. Please give me some hints to correct these constant irritations.
