Exclamation No log-in screen, BSOD, constant restarting, help?!
Hey guys,

I do believe I'm having some trouble. I use a HP Pavillion a6060a and have had Vista installed on it ever since aquiring the unit. I've had very few problems in the past but the other night, after installing an update to Logitech software and downloading Firefox 3.5, problems arose. Everything was fine for awhile until the monitor turned itself off whilst using excel.

Nothing would cause it to turn back on and so I was forced to hold down the power button and then reboot. Upon rebooting, the HP logo (which, after removing a virus at a much earlier date now only takes up half the screen) had vertical lines of a differing colour through it. After this usually start-screen was a heap of binary (only 0's) and then the vista loading bar (which also now only takes up the left half of the screen and had some thin orange lines. After this, the image on the monitor goes black and very little happens. Sometimes, the screen would be black for an amount of time before a BSOD appears and the computer crashes.

After running Startup repair and then restore, I was able to restore the computer to earlier that day and it functioned properly. However, the same thing occurred the next night and now I struggle to get into safe mode (as I am now).

I believe it may have something to do with the Logitech software I installed, as I refuse to believe Firefox could do such a thing.

Here's hoping you can help.

Coh

hi try removing the logitech update if possible also go to hp site and see if you can update your video\graphics driver, if it is a standalone card try the makers site, also try reseating the card, check the cable for bent pins, and stretching.
