I first noticed a problem when i was using firefox, internet explorer popups came up. then, i downloaded spybot search and destroy scanned, cleaned, restarted, and even system restored my computer. i still get this error while starting firefox: The application failed to initialize properly(0xc000007b). Hello xtremeshredder,

Regarding the HijackThis log, according to the Forums rules i am not qualified to give advise on this, so i'll have to overlook the log.

However, in relation to your actual problem, i would suggest it may be worth a try to right click on Firefox and choose "Run as administrator", does that make a difference?

What kind of addons are you running with Firefox? It may be an idea to uninstall them, or alternatively go into Control Panel, and then Internet Options, choose the Advanced tab, and underneath Browsing, unclick Enable Third Party Browser Extensions.

If none of the above resolve your issue, and if no one qualified can pick out anything nasty in your HijackThis log, it may just be worth it do a fresh install of Firefox.

Internet Options is only for IE

I don't see anything to shake a finger at in the scanlog.

Try this, if it doesn't work, just uninstall and reinstall Firefox

Start > run: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -safe-mode

Firefox uses split browser extensions, i've dealt first hand with issues regarding this and disabling third party browser extensions from Internet Options has helped out on several occasions.

Skyco there is no reason to get your dander up -- if you have a reference for that I'd like to see it -- I've certainly never seen anyone attempt to fix a Firefox issue using Internet Options -- and I don't believe there is anything in Firefox's help pages to indicate that is a suggested troubleshooting method.
