Angry how to make partition on hard drive!
I bought my hard drive OEM and now I have no idea how to make a partition so that I can install my Windows vista ultimate on it.

I boot it then I follow onscreen instructions, enter the code and agree to software license ect. Then it reaches a point and says choose driver. In that list there is no driver. So I select drive options but nothing is clickable. So then I click "load driver", but then it prompts me to enter a cd with the software for my hard drive...

How do I make this partition!

Are you referring to step 9 of this guide?
http://www.blackviper.com/Articles/O...tallvista2.htm

You need to download the drivers from your computer or motherboard manufacturer.

Yes I am referring to that step. I have a Gigabyte motherboard, so do I just stick my Gigabyte disk in? Then do what?

I would assume you have SATA hard drives. The OS is looking for the drivers for the SATA controller.

I do have a SATA hard drive. The hard drive is plugged in to the SATA connector and powered. How can I help the OS find the SATA controller?

See my first post. Or see if they are on the CD you have.

So, I read a lot about this process in the manual. But I follow the manual instructions (BootDrv\sB750V\LH) Then nothing happens. After that, if I click "hide drivers that are not compatible with hardware on this compute." and uncheck it, around 30 drivers appear. I have tried several but they don't work! So I searched online for a downloadable driver and found this:

motherboard_driver_chipset_amd_7series-v2.0_vista32.exe

When I put this on the USB device, it never appears when I browse for drivers.

Can I download one compatible online and how would I put it on my USB??

An exe is not a driver file. So it doesn't see it. It is looking for an INF file.
I am surprised that you can't find the drivers on the CD. They should be on there sitting in a folder if your motherboard has SATA.
What is the model of your Gigabyte motherboard?

Download the SATA/RAID drivers from here. Not the chipset. The ones that just say SATA/RAID. These are for Vista 32bit.
http://www.gigabyte.us/Support/Mothe...t%29#anchor_os

This executable is actually a self extracting archive. Extract the archive and burn the files to a cd.

I know the file extension says exe. It is a self extracting archive. The OS install is not going to recognize the exe as a driver. You need to extract the files and put them on some external media. I honestly don't know if you can use USB to load SATA drivers during a Vista Install. I have never had to do it but from what I have read you should be able to.
