Question hard drive failure questions
i have an hp i7-920 processor, with 2x500gb hitachi hdd in a RAID O array. one day my computer froze and after twenty minutes of waiting for it to respond from black screen i rebooted it from the power button on the tower.

after the reboot i received a message from Intel Matrix Storage manager that an error occurred on a hard drive. in the menu i clicked on and view the system report and it showed both hard drives and says they both have errors.

my computer works fine but its a little slow for being a performance machine. i was able to do two back-ups onto an external drive before i started receiving another message from my vista backup program that the backup has failed. i would assume manually backing it up would be the only way.

all in all i need to know if i should replace both the hard drives now before my computer fully crashes. considering i bought this computer from hp i might just be able to send it back if still under warranty, but that also means i have no back-up disks for ANY hardware i bought from them (video card, sound card, photo editing, OS) im not sure what to do and just need some advice i assume. anything will help!!!

I vote for diags from the PC manufacturer firstly. Sometimes the diags from the HDD manufacturer are not specific to the OEM's HDDs.

If the OEM has no HDD diags, I agree w/ joeten.
