Question AutoPlay and File Names...
Hi, I have a Compaq Presario C700 Laptop, with Vista Basic installed which a purchased this time last year, and it has delevoped a few annoying problems.

When I plug in any usb stick, the little autoplay menu doesn't appear, which isn't crucial but a convience that I enjoyed. So I did a google search and changed the registry key

"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Expl orer"

from 95 hexadecimal to 0 and 80 according to

http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/0...windows-vista/

This did fix the problem for a short time (probably around a month) and then it disappeared again and left behind another problem. In just one of my usb's, my main school one, when you view the files with the classic icon layout (icons above file name) the names disappear, but when you put them into list, detailed, and oddly tiles view the names reappear. I have a few images attached to clarify. It works fine at school, just not on my laptop...

If anyone could fix either one or both of these problems it would be greatly appriecated.

Thanks, Tadtheo
