Windows Mail Error
I used a registry scanner to fix some problems the scanner asked me to send infomation it found by e-mail when e-mail sent the following Windows Mail Message appeared.

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the "I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was 'Free Registry Fix Support Team<alex@pcreply.com'. Subject 'Support information', Account: 'mail.bigpond.com', Server: 'mail.bigpond.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 Invalid recipient: <Free>', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error

Any advice Ref this error will be greatly appreciated

If you do not have Windows mail configured to send mail, this could be the problem.

Do you use WMail to send emails otherwise?

Yes Mumbodog I have been using Windows Mail for about 2 years and this is the first time this error has occurred. I have been using some registy scanners to help speed things up a bit this may have caused windows mail settings to change however I have no experiance with settings settings. Also I make a restore point and did backup to external drive before fixing scanner errors I have not tried to restore or put back backed up files,

System restore should do it. Try it.

Generally not a good idea, they will cause more problems than they will fix. Click one of the tags below (bottom left of thread) for a list of other threads with more info.

I've highlighted and changed the color of the relevant error. It sees the email address as just Free, not Free Registry Fix Support Team<alex@pcreply.com
The email name contains spaces and they forgot to quote it. They also forgot the closing ">" after the email address. It should have been
"Free Registry Fix Support Team" <alex@pcreply.com>

If they can't get something as simple as their own email address correct, do you really want them messing around in your registry?

I've had problems with typing in the name in quotes with some email clients as well. you might try using just the email address without the quoted part or the <> symbols
