A few months ago, my Outlook mail file was corrupted (a fairly common thing, I hear), so the other night I finally decided to repair the application with my original Office disc. After working a while, the computer stopped responding. Turned the system off, since then I get nothing on the screen, black screen. BIOS doesn't run, which means no Vista. System will not boot from recovery discs freshly received from HP, put in a new HDD with same results, system will not boot from disc even with HDD unplugged. Have tested monitor off laptop, works fine. Have removed all extras, including sound card, unplugged disc drives, modem, everything extra. Have re-seated all plugs, cleared the CMOS according to instructions, removed and re-set the battery on the motherboard, removed all DIMMs (replaced one to attempt a boot.) I am at a total loss at this point, resorting to y'all...and prayer!.
Anybody??
