it looks like ya'll have just about got it all fixed up, but i was wondering if at any time you tried hitting ALT+F10 at the BIOS screen. I saw that this is a Gateway PC. That key combo will kick off the recovery partition recover process.

Why would I need the recovery partition? This is a completely clean version of Vista the recovery partition was cleared too.

Brett: Im running 1280x768 also its an extended screen onto my TV, colors are Highest 32bit. Its not the same res as i was running before the reinstall because I cant seem to get those settings back my writing etc is smaller than last time at the res.

Also now when I plug in my USB device it doesnt show up at all in My Computer I cant open it from shortcuts I have, but if I go into Device manager its listed as Maxtor Basics Desktop USB Device. Also listed as being plugged into a USB hub.
