format laptop with vista
i have a laptop that already runs vista.
now due to some issues i want to format my laptop & reinstall vista.
i've shifted all of my imp data from this system.
Please list the steps. its very urgent !!!

make and model of the machine
A few qestions
1) Did you get any recovery or windows Cds with the machine
2) when you first started the machine - did it tell you to make some recovery CD/DVDs - if so did you make them
3) you may have a facitity to start the recovery process from the machine
a) under programs
b) via an F key on boot
have a look for any program under the name of the machine - like recovery centre or manager

havn't done any recovery - have no such cd
moreover it will recover the windows and i dont have any issues with vista - i want to format my laptop with doing the partitions again .
Can u help me with that please.
