Dell Laptop
Today my Dell lnspiron 1525 quit working. I tried to resart it in the safe mode but I get a blue screen saying Registry File Failure. cannot load the hive. Can someone help me with this problem? Thanks

Thanks for the come back I have a reinstallation disc DVD for Vista home premium, also a disc for the Inspiron system software. Talked to dell and he is having me run pre boot system assessement build 4108. It showed an error code 2000-1042. Status 79 What ever all that means.
It's still checking stuff,

Hi from what i can find your hdd could be on it's way out, back up your data asap if you can use a usb caddy and slave your drive to another computer, and drag and drop you stuff just so you dont lose it

Thanks for the help but the hard drive is terminal according to Dell. They are sending me a new one. This is my second Dell laotop and the second one that has lost the hard drive. Would you recommend another brand if I buy a new one or do they all use generic hard drives.

not generic but leading brands (Western Digital, Seagate, Fujitsu, Hitachi ect.), yes most all PC manufacturers use the same brands, they vary due to availability and price at the time the PC is built. You never know what you will get.
