Trouble Copying Music To Extrenal HDD
I'm going to upgrade my system from vista to 7 tomorrow so I decided to back up my music tonight. I have roughly 40 gigs worth of a music. For some reason whenever I copy it to the HDD it only copies 5.20 gigs. Any reason for this? Tried it a few times and it consistently does this. There is also 70 gigs of free space on the thing so space isn't a problem. Thanks

Is the external drive FAT32 formatted?

•FAT32

"There's no practical limit on the combined sizes of all the files in a folder, though there may be limits on the number of files in a folder
◦Maximum disk size: 2 terabytes

◦Maximum file size: 4 gigabytes

◦Maximum number of files on disk: 268,435,437

◦Maximum number of files in a single folder: 65,534

Have you tried copying them in smaller chunks?
