No Taskbar. Still Have Desktop However I've read in posts where people are missing the task bar, start menu, and desktop. However my case is a little different.
I have Vista x64
I'm missing the taskbar, but still have my desktop. I ctrl-alt-deleted and was able to bring up the processes, and explorer.exe is running. I tried to stop it and restart it by the add new task way, but still no task bar.
It started last night. It disappeared and then when we logged onto my wife's account the taskbar showed up, however I could not click on the little arrow that tells you, "Logoff, restart, etc" and when I would right click on anything in the start menu, I would get have the list and the rest would be blank spaces. I clicked on a blank space and then came the properties menu like what normally show up, however everything was blank!
Then I tried logging off my wife's account back into mine and there was my taskbar, but the same problem. AFter shutting off my computer for the night I started it this morning and now no one has a task bar. In order for me to get around, my web-cam has a startup feature that pops up on the side of the screen, but it sure would be convenient if I could get that start menu back!
