Exclamation System Restore
Does Vista have system restore like Windows XP where it automatically creates restore points? How can I do this on my windows vista? The system restore is enabled but it does not automatically create restore points?
HELP!

try just leaving your computer on for about an hour not doing anything, disable the standby thing on it (unless it doesnt do that).
I will look in to it a bit more.

It should be creating after certain widows updates.driver install and some software.
So therefore if you dont have any you have a problem...also it usually makes one a day or so just as a check point.

Have you tried to manually create one?
Is task scheduler enabled?

Nothing is disabled and even after leaving it on for a while doesn't still save.

This will determine if it is a schedule problem or a problem with system restore itself

Vista does have a restore not like XP but there is a restore feature I will point you in the direction and let you do the leg work in regards to it. As I stated Vista,7,Server 2008 have a tool called WAIK which can be used for everything from recorvery console etc... the link is here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
It is up to you to get more information in regard to it. I will be glad to help out with it further when you get that far.
