Angry Invisible window on desktop !
HI,

While searching this forum i came across this closed thread:

http://forums.techguy.org/windows-vi...w-desktop.html

Everything stated is exactly the same as what i have! the image is quite accurate

To answer the reply- questions.

- Yes i tried restarting in safe mode and afaik the window was gone. My resolution in safe mode is **** and couldn't change that.. so afaik the window was gone. But i have no idea what process it is and i feel a little bit withheld turning them off one by one.

- No i cannot rightclick inside the "window". it just shows the "adjust size" icon.

- What i did find out but not sure if it is really that related is that the window is gone when i start Call of Duty 4 game and close it again. So it might be some error window but then again i can't solve it cuz i can't see what it's saying. On the other hand, nothing from Call of Duty 4 starts up when i start my computer..atleast i think. So why would it be an error from the game?

Please advice cuz it has been annoying me for far to long now

I assume that there is no "ghost" application in the task bar. And no unexplained application shows in Task Manager, right?

If you decide to try isolating the problem by turning off startup items you do not have to do one at a time. Better to do a "binary" search. Turn off 1/2 of them. If the window still appears you can turn those back on and turn off 1/2 of the remaining. When the window disappears (let's hope so!) then turn back on 1/2 of the set you just turned off.

Short of that you could examine the processes in Task Manager. Most of them you can figure out (do a web search on the name for ones you don't know). If left with any mysterious or suspicious ones stop it/them and see what happens.

Ok, that may be a better way to try and isolate it. I'll give it a shot later
