Solved: C:\PROGRA~1\Google\GOOGLE~2\GOEC62~1.DLL
On booting up, I get dialog box with the above message. I cannot clear it. Each time I try, it reappears and has stopped all programs working. It started after I installed Google Chrome, but I have now uninstalled it. It has made my PC completely inaccessible. I should be grateful for any help please. Thanks. Tony

Do a system restore, pick a date before the problem started.

That DLL is part of Google Desktop. I suggest that if restore gets it usable again to uninstall google desktop.

thank you
Thank you. When I first posted, I couldn't even access System Restore or any other program. All programs were completely disabled except for that error dialog box. I re-started the PC in safe mode, which gave me access to System Restore, and I subsequently uninstalled Google Desktop as you suggested. Problem has, so far, disappeared. Many thanks for your help.

The article I posted shows you how to do a system restore on a non bootable Vista PC.

I hope it is solved for you.
