I was watching a video online and audio went out suddenly. I have a Windows Vista Home Premius model #M6843.
I installed a new media player previously when sound was an issue but now when I try to download wmp 11 I am told I have a more recent wmp
and it cannot be installed. I am wondering about codec? Would that help and which one? Thanks

Try installing k-lite codec pack and see if that fixes it
