Recently Installed Programs Will Not Connect to the Internet.
I'm using a Windows Vista x64 os. Recently any new programs I installed will not connect to the internet. I first noticed the problem attempting to play Borderlands (a game) which I had just installed. It would not connect for online play. I then tried installing a workaround for the Borderlands problem thinking it was just Borderlands which was the problem. When the word around did not work, I installed safari to test if it was all new programs. I had this same problem on my old computer but I ended up formatting to fix it and I'm hoping to avoid that this time.

Have you checked your firewall has not blocked internet access for these programs?

Hello & welcome to TG Forum.

Verify that your Windows FW is off.

Boot to safe mode w/ networking. Try to connect using 1 of the problem programs. Report the results.

Do you connect through a modem or a router, or have you a dial up connection?

Consider uninstalling the Norton program, then, run Sym Removal Tool.
