Windows Easy Transfer Not Working - Not Enough Disk Space But There Is Plenty of Spac
I recently bought a new computer with 650 GB hard disk space. Today I tried transferring date from my old machine to the new one using Windows Easy Transfer. I am using the transfer cable. Both machines are running Vista Home Premium. Twice I have gotten an error message on the new machine telling me that there is not enough disk space but with 650 GB this seem impossible. (The old machine only has 120 GB of disk space.) Does anyone know what the problem is? I checked the D Drive (Factory Image) but the only files in there are 'Data Recover and a 1 kb file. Any and all help with this will be greatly appreciated.

Not enough space
I have the same problem with a large new hard drive and an error that says not enough space. Did you solve your problem?

tgafer, I was not able to solve the problem with the Easy Transfer Cable. I eventually transferred the data using thumb drives. I did buy a KVM switch box (for about $20.00) which enabled me to use one monitor and switch back and forth between my old computer and my new computer which was very helpful. Good luck.
