Solved: Using Acronis 2010 True Free Version?
Hi,

I have Acronis True Image WD Edition, but I can only use it to backup this WD hard drive but not to move this backup to the new hard drive (Acronis image will not install).

I downloaded free trial of Acronis 2010: http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing...cts/trueimage/

Will this let me restore the .tib image file that WD edition creates onto the new hard drive?

Or is Drive Image XML a good program?

I am told the free trial is fully functional for 15 or 30 days.

Yes it will recognize any tib file created by any version of acronis.

Thanks.
So should I install acronis 2010 on both computers to transfer the hard drive files?

There has to be some catch to the trial version right? Do they pause halfway and say that "please buy full version or your hard drive will be left half way"?

Should not be neccessary.

Past versions had No limitations during the trial period, it does not mean it was changed for this latest version, but I seriously doubt it was.
