Keeps freezing and id ont like this!!!
hello, i have vista...and i love it...when i first got my computer i fixed EVERYTHING wrong with vista....but than i messed up and uninstalled soemthing that had to do with WIFI...and i couldnt re-install it from the disks....i looked...so i rebooted EVERYTHING.....well now my screen keeps freezing....i fixed it once on a website but i cant find that site anymore....i would like help on getting websites that will help with any\all probloms with vista. and i would also like to find a FREE reg cleaner...i was told that that might be a little bit of the problom...and even if its not i think it would be better to have...and i would like that not to be rouge...but...i think most people know how to avoid these kind of programs lol

oh and my laptop freezes mostly when i move it...how can i avoid that? and please dont say anything like "well dont move it than"...i got a laptop for a reason.....just saying lol =)

thanks for any and all help (unless you tell me not to move my laptop....thats not really help sence it dont help me...)

I, too like Vista.

Which Toshiba? A product page, from Toshiba would be helpful.

Which Vista flavor; # bits; service pack?

What do you mean by move it? Jiggle it while it is on your lap? Gently carry it from room A to room B. Take it from your location to another home, or an office?

Does it matter if the lappy is running on battery or off the power adapter?

Regarding reg cleaners, there is a free one as part of crap cleaner. www.ccleaner.com

I do NOT recommend using a reg cleaner. Your choice. It is your computer, not mine.

Which wi fi program? Did it involve drivers?

Boot to safe mode. Does the problem occur in safe mode?

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tuto...utorial61.html
I use the following method:
restart the computer. Tap the F8 key once a second, until the startup menu appears.
Then, use the up / down arrow keys to select / highlight "safe mode with networking"
Press "enter".

The use of paragraphs increases my ability to understand that which someone has composed.

Hi first I'am with RF on the reg cleaner I have seen it here and on other forums the issues they can cause are not what you want to go through but that is only my opinion, here is a site for info on all things windows
http://www.winsupersite.com/vista/ your freezing could be from a number of things something as simple as the pressure of your hand on a area to some software issue RF will keep you right on which way to troubleshoot

Thanks for 2nding my motion.

k:
The 1st place to start might be to create a bootable disk, like an UBCD , www.ubcd4win.com

Boot to it.
If the problem persists, Windows is NOT the culprit.
Problem could still be the HDD.
Do you know how to remove the HDD?

Hi Kitin15 you have a couple of toubleshooting things you can do the one that will give the best option to start with is look in the eventviewer and check the logs around the time of your last freeze it may show up as a app crash click start type cmd in search choose the top most result right click and choose run as administrator then in the cmd prompt window type eventviewer and hit enter you can then browse the logs.
below is a lot of links to help sites for windows

If it locks up or freezes when moved, then there's a hardware problem.
