Hello & Welcome to TG Forum.

EXCELLENT job of providing the mini dmp file & your computer's specs.

Which brand, model & model #, or which motherboard brand, model & model #?

Why did you re-format & re-install?

When did the problems begin?

What do you think caused your initial problem? For example, hardware failure; gradually slow computer; problem after updates to Windows or a program; problem after running a registry cleaner; problem after malware?

At what point in the re-install process does the BSOD appear? Does the BSOD appear immediately after installing Vista; after installing drivers; after installing a program; after updating Windows; after updating a program, other?

Are you installing Vista from an operating system DVD or from an image or from a system recovery disk [ or set of disks]?

Please provide as much information displayed on the BSOD as possible.

Sorry, but I am not 1 of the few who has skills at analyzing Vista mini dumps.

That's a start. Answers to the rest of the questions are important. I don't ask questions unless I think the information is important.

After installing Windows Vista, in what order do you install the drivers?
In general, I install them in this order:
1. Chipset
2. Video & Monitor
3. Network
4. Audio
5. Download & install Critical & Important updates to Vista
6. Install computer security programs.
7. Install productivity programs.
8. Install entertainment programs.

Your choice may vary. I think it is VERY important to install 1 - 6 in that order.

About what are you confused?

We can not help you if you are using pirated software.

Best of success.

Do you mean in Device Manager? Do you mean in Windows updates?

If you mean in Device Manager:
Which motherboard brand, model, model #?
Which chipset is on the board?

Which of the following are integrated / built into the motherboard?
1. Network / ethernet / Lan
2. Audio / sound.
3. Video / Graphics?

If the motherboard has a built in video chipset, but IF you have installed an add in video card:

Remove all add in cards.
After installing Windows, run the chipset driver program from the motherboard.
Shut down. Add 1 add in card. Turn on. Install drivers.
Continue until all add in cards & drivers have been installed.

My recommendation:
Download the chipset drivers & other drivers from the manufacturer of the computer, or from the motherboard & add in card manufacturers.
copy / save them to a flash drive or optical disk

Re-format
Re-install Vista
Copy downloaded files from flash drive or optical disk to your hard drive. Be sure the attribute of "read only" is NOT selected. Left click "ok" after removing indicator from "read only" box, if the indicator is present.
RIGHT click the file. Left click "properties".

Install drivers in the order I recommend.

Best of success.

It would help to know which motherboard & chipset you have, sf, as well knowing if the video & network devices are integrated or add in cards.

But in general, yes, yes, yes, & yes.

Best of success.

Hiya

I'm a little confused with this part:

Quote:
he bought it. i just have a burned copy.
i got the product ID and everything.
If he has bought it and using it, then copying the disk and using the same code is against the law.

And we can't help on pirated copies:

Quote:
Other Illegal Activities - As you might expect, we don't want anything illegal going on here. Users cannot post hacks, cracks, pirated software, or anything of the like. Furthermore, we do not allow instructions on how to complete illegal activities, such as pirating. Please don't ask for advice on using illegal software, as it will be removed
http://www.techguy.org/rules.html

I'm no good at Vista dumps, can't view them at work.

For the motherboard name, go here:

http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

And download and run the Belarc Advisor. Then post the results of the Motherboard name, as we have the chipset now

Regards

eddie

Where did you get the drivers for the pc?

The motherboard name is a must have, as the manufactuer will have the exact drivers you need.

I am not familiar with the Belarc Advisor report.
I find no entry for neither motherboard nor system board.
