hal.dll
i have a problem with my laptop
its vista home premium
but
when i start it up
it ses i lost a file and it cannot reboot
hal.dll it is called?

well more info: well when i start it up i get the VAIO and stuff but then the i got a pop up telling me a i have two option repair computer or start normally so i try start normally and it brings me back to the screen after about 2 mins so then i try repair computer that gave me 5 options which all seem to be playing about because i tried all 5 and they are useless but then i noticed that in BIOS it ses i needed a file called Hal.dll soo any help guys?

Hi you could try resetting the bios to defaults

abit more detail dude ?.. i duno what your talking about
i get into BIOS but i cant realy change anythink
well i think its BIOS F2 i cannot see the bottom half of my screen so im nt so sure its BIOS or not?

Hi I'am limited to what i can tell you as iIhave no idea what make or model of computer you using generally you get into the bios navigate to the exit screen and then navigate to the option to reset to default,if you cant see it then do not try look at running a repair from your install disc and see if that helps alternately ou could run sfc /scannow from command prompt http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/66...c-command.html
