Question Solved: Black screen...
I recently did something really stupid...in an attemt to change my vista theme i changed some of my .dll files in system 32. One was called system32.dll and two othersi cant remember right now but can provide if needed. Anyway I restart my computer for changes to take effect... i logg in and it gives me 2 errors. I can give those too. Then it signs me in and nothing...a black screen...i tried starting taskmanager but that gives me an error too. Anyway...can anyone help please?!?

Boot from the Vista DVD and do a system restore, pick a date before you messed up.

Thanks but I do not have the vista dvd...i never got it. Also I went onto gateway support and tried to recovery to factory defaults but a blue screen comes up...does anyone know how to do it without the cd or with the command prompt? Preferable a restore and not a recovery so i dont lose my data....

Recovery ISO, download and burn as an image to CD or DVD, boot from it and follow the instructions I posted earlier.
