Solved: Reinstall from disk get rid of virus?
I was wondering if i boot Vista from the disk and format the drive and reinstall will this rid the drive of virus/malware/spyware, etc? Is there a better way to do this? I have ran through several antivirus applications and they say comp is clean but i can just tell from odd issues that it is not. I have another post of those problems but wonder if a reinstall would rid the comp of these problems.

A clean install of your o/s will rid your drive of any current malware residing on it; however the actions you take after the re-install are just as important.

* Complete all recommended updates from Microsoft: Critical
* Install "My Opinion" Microsoft Security Essentials: It's good and its free.
or any that you found to be of value.

Good Luck and Always Back-up your data

Of course formatting will get rid of a virus. Absolutely everything is wiped out including the operating system, programs, and data.
