Hi and welcome,
If it's a corporate copy, have you asked your company IT people for assistance yet? They might be able to advise if it is possibly affecting others.

1. You did not state exactly what the "trouble" is.

2. How are you trying to update, what method? Windows Update?

3. "Cannot" does not explain the problem very well

Smile about updates
Thank you for the reply. I had the guy validating it for me but somehow it didn't work and he is now on holiday overseas,i have the registration entries so maybe if you can advise on where to install it i can have another go at it.
I go throught Control Panel find Microsoft Updates and do my updates from there.
Thanking you

usually registration entries are a .reg file, if so right click on it and select merge. This adds the entries to the registry.

Hello Mombodog,
Thank you for your help, i did what you suggested and was succesful BUT when i went to use the program i had message telling me that the copy of office i am using is not genuine. So now i am not sure what to do, i can still use it but i keep getting a reminder to validate the copy.
Thanking you
