Solved: Administrator on Vista?
I was wondering if I was an Administrator on Vista. When I right click on something, it says, "Run as administrator". There are no other accounts on this PC except for me, so I would be an Administrator, right? If so, then why does it say this:

Code:
Microsoft Windows [Version 6.0.6001]
Copyright (c) 2006 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.
C:\Users\Josh>net user administrator
User name Administrator
Full Name
Comment Built-in account for administering the computer/dom
ain
User's comment
Country code 000 (System Default)
Account active No
Account expires Never
Password last set 1/20/2008 9:57:58 PM
Password expires Never
Password changeable 1/20/2008 9:57:58 PM
Password required Yes
User may change password Yes
Workstations allowed All
Logon script
User profile
Home directory
Last logon 1/20/2008 9:48:01 PM
Logon hours allowed All
Local Group Memberships *Administrators
Global Group memberships *None
The command completed successfully.
It says that I'm not active on it at all. So, how can I not be active on it, it doesn't propmt me for a password or anything, it sometimes tells me: "You don't have administrator privileges to do this" or something like that when I try to delete a folder. Does anyone know how to make me an Administrator permanently, and if I am already, 1. Why does it say I'm not in the CMD, 2. Why doesn't it prompt me for a pass and 3. Why can I not delete some folders that are not read-only and that tell me I don't have Administrator rights?

Windows Vista Super Account:

Open Start: TYPE CMD

RIGHT CLICK - Run as Admin

TYPE: Net user administrator /active:yes

*** This will add a admin profile after restart.

There are two administrator levels, user accounts run at the lesser priveledge.
This helps in keeping malware from installing behind your back.

The true administrator account is hidden and disabled in Vista.

Is there anyway to enable the true Administrator in Vista so that I can delete folders and such?

Two things to know about using the hidden admin account.

1. Internet Explorer does not run in protected mode, so don't surf the internet while logged into this account.

2. User Account Control is disabled, this could lead to malware installing without your knowledge.

Use it wisely.
