Hi eperdomo50 have tried reseating the ram and video card if you have one is this a latop or desktop,if the former try a vga monitor and cable then try booting and using the fn key and one of the Fkeys to see if you can switch to the monitor,if a desktop check the cable for damage, or bent pins, strectching, try another cable or monitor all pretty basic but allways worth running through just to rule out the obvious

may be the answer
earlier i talked about it being the RAM because RAM is use for files that are used allot and need to be used fast like explorer.exe witch controls the desktop and start menu.

now while vista starts up it sends files to the RAM and that process may be cut off therefore no vista boot up

Hi at this point since you can boot from a disc try running a repair from your disc and see if it sorts out the issue method 1 http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tuto...torial148.html
method 2 http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/88...all-vista.html for systems with service packs
