Very Frustrated! 'Program has encountered an error'
Shortly after installing SP2 we started getting error messages on our Vista laptop. All of them, on different (but related) programs, give no hint of the problem.
"(program) has encountered an error and will close". Period. Nothing in the event logs.

I can't believe that Windows has no clue what the error is-nor that it isn't recorded somewhere, but I can't find out where-and, searching the web for this, it appears that neither can anybody else! All the 'solutions' I've found point to different programs as being the problem, most of which I don't have. (And those which point to generic software, e.g. video drivers, don't fit my symptoms-unless somebody thinks that Vista's SP2 updated my video drivers? That doesn't seem likely, although I'll try updating them myself in desperation. As soon as I move the production stuff to a new PC.)

Anyway, at this point I don't even care if anybody can tell me what the problem is if you can just tell me where to look! I'm reasonably competent on figuring things out, but generally I have at least some data to start with. This gives me nothing.
