Drive Letters Allocation
How can I ensure that the letter allocated to to plug in external drives/readers/flash drives/etc
remain the same each time they are plugged in ?

My system simply the next available free letter each time I plug in and this screws up my Sync- toy back up system

- plug the device in
- right-click on My Computer (or Vista equivalent)
- click Manage
- click Disk Management
- right-click on your removable device
- click Change Drive Letter and Paths...
It should be self-evident from there. Repeat for each device.

Regret to inform you that while the system you mentioned will change the Drive letters I still have the same problem that once unplugged and then plugged in again, the Drive letters revert to the FIRST AVAILABLE letters and thus make my Sync Toy system useless.
