Vista crashes on Right Click
When I right click anything on the left pane of explorer it crashes and restarts Explorer, however if I do the same on the right pane it is fine. Surely the operation should be the same.

Does anyone know of a solution
TIA

Left pane is folders. Have you done anything to the registry? Have you downloaded and installed a program that will put additional right-click options in the drop-down menu? Can you remember when this started?

Invoke System Restore and see when your last restore points were taken. Some programs make automatic backups when they install.

Go to add/remove programs, sort on installation date and see if anything has been installed recently.

Perhaps these actions will cause you to figure out what changes to your system caused it. (It didn't happen all by itself). After you have figured it out, hopefully you will have a system backup just prior to that so you can restore system files and registry.
