OK- if we are all on the same page and it has Vista let'smove the thread into that forum-

WNAPLA_

Go to the Start button......click that and click in the Start Search dialog box, and then type: winver.

Then press Enter or click OK. Record the information on the box window like in this pic > http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r202...P1-how-to-tell

and post the info from YOURS please so someone can help you.

I'm OK until I try to copy or post the information???
Besides All the info in the winver is the same as I already gave.

I give up.
This is too hard.
I feel stupid.
I think I'll go buy a computer.

Thanks anyway.

I simply asked for you to record (on a piece of paper) what is on that small window....

It is written a certain way, for a reason, which we must be able to see to "interpret" as there are several different types of Windows Vista.... it is not copyable to the clipboard, so you cannot paste it in.....that is why I said to record it and post it. You wouldn't have to type in the part with your user name....just the upper part showing the type of Windows.

Anyway- should you decide to either post a screenshot, or the way I asked, it's OK. Actually, posting a screenshot is easier, once you do it you will see, but there is not really a terrible lot to write and type out, either.

What the heck? Lance1 gave some specific directions to post info so we could help you. We all do this for fun in our free time. No one gets paid. If you want help, we'll do our best. If you don't, we'll move on.

Let's do that. Move on.
You assume someone who needs your help can do things
on the computer that come easy to you. This is not true.

As I said, Thany you anyway.

well the posts do show that people are helping and supplying different methods to do thing and providing images

When you have an
Experience of Intermediate
there is an assumption that you can do things on a PC

We do look at that experience level and coach accordingly

if there are things that you do not know how to do - just post back -
As said - this is fully voluntary and done in free time to help people resolve issues without paying for expensive repairs and advice ....

if perhaps you would read through the post and post back the necessary info - that would help us - to help you

your call...

all i can add to this is that she isnt stupid but she seems too willing to just throw her hands in the air and give up to easily. i would think that her level of experience is more like a beginner. all of the help given so far has been easy to follow and straightforward.and if she doesnt understand the instructions she should ask and im sure someone will be more than willing to walk her thru it step by step.but we cant help if we dont know we arent mindreaders. and for her to get another computer is foolish because if she cant fix the problem she has with this one satisfactorily then getting a new one isnt the answer either.just my opinion for what its worth.
