Solved: double arrows on shortcuts icons on desktop running Vista Used to have a single right facing arrow on shortcut icons on my desktop running Window Vista. In the past few days, I have noticed double right facing arrows on the icon on Excel, Word, pdf and even jpgs. I do not know how to get rid of them, I tried installing Vista shortcut manager but when I tried to apply no arrow it gave me an error message that some exception was preventing it. I cliked on Continue anyway, but it didn't work. Uninstalled it reinstalled it but same problem. I tried HiJack This thinking there was something in there and fixed 20 entries but the problem persists.
All I can think of is recently I changed from McAfee security to Norton 360 as is provided by Comcast complimentary. What is causing this and how can I get rid of these double right facing arrows? Oh btw there is a littel square box above the arrows that allows you to left clik on it. a check mark stays in it and it is now highlighted dark blue as well as the name in the icon shortcut. |
