Angry Vista Freezes on me*
Hi everyone,

I have recently been experiencing some difficulties with my system. I dont know exactly what i did, but i manage to change something with my drivers. The message that i used to get, that i some how got the system to stop sending to me started to reappear. i have since forgotten how to troubleshoot this issue. the message is that when i watch any type of video or anything of the sort my system stops and tells me that "device driver R300 has stop responding and has recovered." i have seen this problem before and yes u might tell me to go to the ATI website and download new and updated drivers, guess what doesnt work. i then tried to enter into my device manager and change or get ride of the drivers all together and well i was unable to access my device manger. i checked if it might have been misplaced but still shows up in system 32, so that is not the problem. now on top of all this my computer after starting it in normal mode F!@#ing Freezes up on me right after it boots up windows and i sign in. i wait a few secs and try to open up a program like Mozilla or press on start menu and it just Freezes, i cant do ctrl+alt+delete to load up task manager or anything. i have been loading up the system in Safe mode. Im at a loss here i dont know what to do and on top of that even in safe mode i cant access device manager to get ride of this driver that i think is messing up my whole machine. so if anyone has any ideas for me i would greatly appreciate it?? here is my log from Hijack this, but keep in mind that its only while in safe mode

tried to restore
in safe mode i can access it however, it tells me that No restore points have been created on my computers system disk. if i would like to create a restore point i can do that through system protection. however i dont know how that will help me now that my system is already messed up. when i click on device manager a window saying Microsoft Management Console has Stopped working. i dont know what else to do.

Not only freezing
my Vista is not only freezing but now some of my drivers are not working. i have no internet or volume. the volume says that the Audio service is not running n the internet says the dependency service or group failed to start. i cannot run anything in regular mode cause the first time that i click on any application my comp just freezes up. Ctrl+Alt+delete doesnt work. i have been trouble shooting for over day with no luck. i believe i may have updates something that has interfered with some of my old drivers. i cannot upon up my device driver in regular mode, nor in safe mode or in Cmd. it gives me a message saying that my MMC is not working and attempts to give a solution with no luck. if anyone has any good suggestion plz, i would appreciate it thanx guyz.

I merged your threads here. Please do not open multiple threads on the same topic.

I edited your post #4 to remove your language that is inappropriate for a "family" forum.

My suggestion is to cut your losses and reinstall or "Recover" Vista.

Apology accepted. Thank you.

Most people have their data in Documents, Pictures and/or Music. You probably want to save those folders. Presumably you would remember if you have saved any files or folders elsewhere.

You probably want to save your browser bookmarks or favorites. One way is to use the browser to export them to your Documents folder before making your backup. If you use Firefox I can tell you how to save your complete profile.

Likewise you probably want to save your address book or contact list and (some) mail messages. If you are using Thunderbird you can save the entire profile (including account information). Otherwise, look to see about exporting those to Documents or find out where the important files for your email client are stored.

Do you have a Vista installation DVD or do you have a Recovery disk from your PC manufacturer? Either way, you would boot to the DVD and go from there to install/Recover.

Often we can do that on this site. Or link to a good "how to" site. But, we need to know precisely what you are trying to do. Rescue data? Format the drive (or at least the partition)? Install Vista using an installation DVD? Use a Recovery DVD or CD?

Thanx for all the help
I decided in the end since the computer was over two years old too give up on it. The power supply in the back was malfunctioning also. It never registered that the adapter was plugged in when it was, i didnt have all do to fiddle around with it till it was resting in the right place and charged. on top of that the battery was only lasting for around 40 min when not plugged in. so, I bought a new machine and I think i got ripped off, but hey thats life. Thanx for all the help and once again srry about the language but these things can be frustrating at times.
