Need Help :( virtual drives wont assign letters
Hi , sorry if there is an info thread on this subject already but here goes:
I recently found that my cd/dvd drive doesnt work, cant see it in hardware list, i tried the reg key fix but that didnt work.
This wouldnt even be much of an issue if my daemon tools would assign a letter to the virtual drives
Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.1

OS Version: Microsoft® Windows Vista™ Home Premium , Service Pack 1, 32 bit
Processor: AMD Turion(tm) 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-58, x64 Family 15 Model 104 Stepping 2
Processor Count: 2
RAM: 3453 Mb
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon X1200 Series , 128 Mb
Hard Drives: C: Total - 189277 MB, Free - 1965 MB;
Motherboard: ATI, SB600, Rev 1, None
Antivirus: AVG Anti-Virus Free, Updated and Enabled

is what im running with here ^

Ive tried reg fixers, avg, driver fixers and still cant them to work.

I got a virus a couple of weeks ago that wouldnt let me go on the internet even though it appeared that i was online, dont remember the name since avg just gave me a wall of text that was hard to sift through. I think its fixed since avg doesnt pop up anymore aside from tracking cookies and i can now connect to the internet (altho i keep getting lag spikes in bandwith.. not sure exactly what that is about since i am connected to the modem, maybe im just paranoid)
anyway any help would be great. Thanks for taking the time to read this! Hope someone can help since this is really frustrating and im out of options. (or i feel i am)

i tried it already multiple times. Although it acknowledges a problem , it claims to fix it but really doesnt
Thanks anyway i guess. :P I wish this problem were so easy to fix :/

Tried it , did the same thing the previous link did it seems, says there is something wrong and cant fix it (with the cd drive) , id settle for just getting daemon tools to work now, but i keep getting Engine error code 8 when i try to assign a letter to a drive ( wich is wierd because when i originally installed daemon tools itr assigned letters to the drives automatically , now it just shows up as a virtual drive with no letters.) Lameness. Pure lameness

Hi did you try the manual fix,you might try uninstalling daemon and see how the drive behaves if all is well then reinstall daemon
